Welcome to our website.

Birmingham Depression Alliance is a self-help group for people who are coping with depression or anxiety. We are not a counselling service, but a group of friends who happen to have one thing in common - we are all dealing with depression and anxiety, or are caring for someone who does. We hold daytime meetings, and aim to provide support and friendship for one another by sharing our experiences and methods of coping.

Erdington Daytime Meeting

Our daytime meeting is held once a month in Erdington Library, which is in Orphanage Road opposite Blockbusters. We meet on the third Wednesday of the month between 11.00am and 13.00pm, while the library is closed to the public. (Please come to the blue door on the left hand side of the building and ring the doorbell). The meetings are relaxed and informal - tea and coffee are available, and some members bring along biscuits or cakes to share. We talk about how we've been feeling over the last month (good or bad), and other group members will offer support, advice or encouragement. No one is forced to speak - some members prefer to sit quietly and just listen. Anyone coming to the group is welcome to bring a friend, family member or carer if they wish. There is no need to contact us in advance if you would like to come to a daytime meeting - just turn up on the day - and there is no charge for attending.

If you have any questions about the group, you can email us, or call 07879 222 374 and leave your details on our answering service.

The library is situated on Orphanage Road, in between Mason Road and Edwards Road.
